Secular mindfulness education is growing exponentially in education as current neuroscience supports its efficacy. Secular mindfulness in schools is seen as part of SEL (social emotional learning) that can help to create success and well-being for students in and beyond the classroom.
Mindfulness is the ability to focus in a particular way: in the present moment, with openness and curiosity.
Benefits of mindfulness include:
(Supported by thirty years of research and current neuroscience)
-
Better focus and concentration

Decreased stress and anxiety

Improved impulse controls
